Kevin D. Hayes

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Kevin began his legal career in the public sector as an Assistant Attorney General with the Texas Attorney General’s Office in Austin, Texas. He represented the State of Texas in complex litigation in federal and state court as part of the Special Litigation, General Litigation, and Civil Medicaid Fraud divisions.

In early 2014, Kevin and his family moved to Tyler, Texas, where he began working as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney with the Smith County District Attorney’s Office. He gained valuable trial experience prosecuting a wide range of criminal cases until the end of 2017. In 2018, Kevin entered private practice as an insurance defense attorney at Wilson, Robertson & Cornelius, P.C. in Tyler. He represented insurance carriers and individual defendants in motor vehicle accident and premises liability cases throughout East Texas.

Kevin joined Roberts & Roberts in August 2021. In joining the firm, Kevin endeavors to use his litigation experience and the insight he gained working as an attorney for insurance companies to help injured Texans see their day in court. His practice focuses exclusively on personal injury law, including helping those who have been injured in automobile accidents and premises liability cases.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Kevin completed his undergraduate studies at Washington and Lee University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History in 2007. He then attended Emory University School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2010.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Kevin is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND AND INTERESTS

Kevin was born and raised outside of Seattle, Washington. Over ten years ago, he moved to Texas with his beautiful wife, Amy, an East Texas native. Kevin and his wife are the proud parents of two wonderful sons, Henry and Robert. When Kevin is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming, and visiting his in-laws at their ranch in Bullard.
